Why, instead of the picture I am trying to print, do I get a load of letters? I can print a letter, but not download and print off a picture sent to me. It is a new Epsom C64 printer, and a new computer. Do I take the printer back and say it does not work, or am I, as I suspect, stupid

How are you trying to print the picture?
Is the picture visible on your screen before you try to print? If so, what program are you using to display it? What are the last three letters of the picture file name (e.g., picture.bmp or picture.jpg)?

Judging from the fact that you don't know how to spell
"Epson" I would choose the latter possibility.
