have the Internet connected through this computers USB port to a DSL modem. I
have my second computer connected to this computer through my ethernet adaper
let me make this a little easier to understand ill start from the farthest
point my seceond computer....Comp2 ethernet adapter---ethernet line--ethernet
adapter comp1---USB line---DSL modem. Hope that helps. Neither one of my
computers is noticing that an ethernet line is even plugged in much less
noticing eachother. Im using windows XP pro on both computers. anyone able to
help?

For starters, you're going to have to use a special type of
ethernet cable called a crossover cable to connect the two
machines. You should be able to find one at a local Best Buy,
CompUSA or Circuit City. Here's a link for Best Buy:

Once you've got the correct cable, you're going to have to set
up Internet Connection Sharing. Take a look at these sites for a
little guidance:

Good luck.

No Hub / Switch or Router - are you using a 'crossover' network cable ? PC
direct to PC needs a 'Crossover' network cable
