I had a nice page which I personalized and now when I go to it there is only
a page that seems I inadvertently 'added'. How do I undo this so I can get
the nice page back?

Your home page may have been hijacked. Do you regularly scan for virus and
spyware with up to date programs?

To get your home page back, type in the URL and go to that page. Then click
on tools, internet options and on the general tab, click Use Current button.
Click OK to exit.

Yes, I never have trouble + use reliable programs regularly.
I tried to follow your directions but I'm sorry I could not. I have xp,sp2,
explorer6, with all current updates. I went to the msn homepage and clicked
my msn -that is what I think you meant when you saids type in the url. I
found no tools;it seemed you were telling me to use msie to fix my home page.
This is where I threw you off. I want comcast as my curent home page .
However when you go to msn there is a selection for "My Msn' that is where I
can't get to now that I used to be able to go.
Sorry to be so vague. Perhaps another message might help qualify? Please do
not abondon.
Thank you

If you are having problems with the my.msn page, I cannot help as I am not
familiar with and don't use it. My instructions were simply to set a given
page on IE6 as your home page. Perhaps somebody else can jump in here and
help.

What Ron meant was to go to the Web page you *want* to have as your home
page
I want comcast as my curent home page.

So *that's* the page you need to go to!

Then follow the rest of Ron's instructions:

Try in safe Mode and if you have a security software that can block you from
changing the Home page go to the configuration Option and change that to
allow you to change the Home page.
In the S&D click on Tools >> IE Tweaks >> Miscellaneous Locks
[ ] Lock IE Start Page Settings in front of the current user. uncheck
this option or Ad-Aware working in Ad-watch can block you from editing the
home page.
You can Start with clean Boot by opening the Run command and type in:
msconfig click [OK]
On the System configuration window click on StartUp Tab and uncheck the
Lines for Norton and Defender and reboot your computer and try to change the
Home page.
Also you could have Spyware that blocking you from changing the Home page so
scan for malwares.
Here is the Registry editing:
Open the RUN command and type regedit32.exe
or regedit.exe and Click OK.

In the registry Editor click on this KEY:
[+] HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main.
Loook in the Right Pane/Window for Local Page Right click on it and select
Modify.
In the new window Input the Data C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm and click OK.
Then Locate *Start Page* and there put the New Home page you want, Right
Click on it and select Modify and in the Data: http://www.bbc.co.uk for Ex
and click OK.

The same on this KEY:
[+] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main.
Local Page change to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\blank.htm.

Start Pag
:http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/reddir.dll?prd={SUB_PRD}&clcid={SUB_CLSID}&pver={SUB_PVER}&ar=home
click Ok and Exit the Registry Editor change the home page on the IE
Properties also and Reboot and see if the issue resolved.

Try the Home Page Lock and Unlock from here- line 63 1st column:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Bear in mind if you have a protection/security software that configured or
by default set to block any changes or alert you to take action, try to
reconfigure it to allow you to change the Home page.
Did you clicked on Apply then [OK] when you tried the URL for your new Home
page?.

For Malware download both these software:

HTH.

I feel terrible. Due to my poor articulation, I have caused many peaople
especially you to do so much work.
Facts
1-I have Comcast as my homepage -that is not the issue.
2-Go to MSN's homepage and you will find a choice for 'My MSN on the left.
3-When I clicked on that on Friday, it took me, as always to a nice
personalized page which had weather etc.
4-Saturday, I tried to "add a page" as my msn offers as a selection
thinking it would add another page for my personalized "My MSN".
5-Instead, when I now click the "My MSN' on the MSN home page, instead of
getting the nice page I ferred to aboove. I now get an odd page which I am
guessing is A PAGE THEY WANT ME TO BUILD IN PLACE OF THE OLD 'MY MSN PAGE'.
6-I do not want to build a page I just want to 'be onmsn homepage and be
able to click on MY MSN and get the previosly defaulted page. I clicked on
msn to restore to defaults but no such choice exits on My MSN
I apologize for asking for so much support over a seemingly small issue
newsgroups is where I have usually gotten the trick issues resolved. I
wouldn't blame you for bailing out but please give it a try.
Thank you.

Since this doesn't seem to be a Windows issue, you will have more
success contacting MSN's technical support:

Thank you for all the help -I think MSN is having problems with some of its
programs including mine. I'll chaeck back but thanx a lot.
