How to undo a System Restore point?

R

Roger R

When a System Restore is done, a message appears stating that all changes
are fully reversable and can be undone, but it doesn't say how to go about
this. Where can i find the instructions/page to do what it says on the tin?

If I open the System Restore page from the 'help and support' start menu I
can see two side by side calenders, showing, in the left pane the dates when
System Restore points were created; in the right pane a selected point.
However the System Restore dates that I implemented and now want to undo are
not in the list, so i think I'm looking at the wrong list.

Of course I can do a System Restore from an earlier time but that doesn't
seem to be the same as undoing the one that caused a problem on the 08 Dec.

Please advise.

First screen after you open System Restore: "Undo..."

DUH.

There is no "Undo..." on the System Restore page I'm looking at.

What is the path to the System Restore page you are looking at?

Roger,

If you click "Help" on the System Restore page, you'll find this:

"Restore operation restore points

Each time you perform a restoration, it is a change made to your computer.
System Restore creates restore operation restore points to track the change
and the restoration. You can select these restore operation restore points in
the Select a restore point screen in the System Restore Wizard to undo the
restoration."

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools

The dialog box that pops up when it's clicked has the "Undo..." option
(#3 of 3) on the right side.

I'm sorry to be difficult, but following your direction comes to the same
page as before where there are only TWO items on the right handside.
"To begin, select the task that you want to perform:
1. Restore my computer to an earlier time
2. Create a restore point"

So whats going on here then?
What do you advise?

If you think you may want to undo using an earlier restore point e.g. it
may be a bit old you take option 2 first and then perform option 1.

Hope this helps.
