My mouse freeze

I have a Dell Inspiron with an usb Logitech Notebook mouse whith it's
corresponding software installed running under Windows XP-Pro SP2.

My problem is that of the mouse-pointer freezing; I must move the mouse
all around for a while and then the pointer begins to move but, if I
stop moving it, then it can freeze again in a few seconds.

Another problem not so serious is that of the option "go to default
option" disable constantly.

And a last problem is that I configure the mouse velocity to the max,
but the "Synaptics PS/2 Port Pointing Device" (my touchpad) does'nt
configure this option at all, so moving the pointerwith the touchpad is
very slow.

Hope anyone can help me and sorry for the languaje (I'm not english
spoken).

Paty.

Don't know if this helps but when i bought a new mouse, the drivers were out
of date with my currant update of windows. double check the logitec support
website for the latest drivers for your mouse.
I also had a problem with my mouse not moving for at least six inches and
then moving like it was lagging. i found out that it was my mouse mat. i had
a picture on it and it was interfereing with the optical feedback.
try it anyway. any hard smooth surface can test this proceedure(i did it on
my computer desk) hope it help anyway. :-s
