my insert file command is not working

I use the "insert file" command in Outlook a lot. A couple of days ago that
feature quit working. I have not loaded any new software and can not think
of any events with my computer that would have impacted Outlook. In fact
Outlook seems to be working fine with the exception of the my ability to
attach a file. When i click on the paperclip to attach a file I get a message
that it is "Not Responding".

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Search for and rename outcmd.dat, frmcache.dat, views.dat and extend.dat.
In case that does not work create a new profile for Outlook through control
panel mail icon show profiles.
