My DVD R/W is recognized as DVD RAM Drive

I am using xp pro and everything was working just fine.. My dvd rom and LG
dvd r/w were recognized and working. I removed a hard drive from my
secondary cable and now my dvd rom is a cd rom and my dvd rw is recognized
as "HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4160B".... I did not disturbe the cable both these
drives are on.. my dvd rw is on primary and my dvd rom is slave... My
other cable has a zip 100 on it as primary... the other HD was on this cable
as slave...

Uninstall the devices by removing them from the Device Manager.
Restart Windows.

I had done that individually earlier but went ahead and uninstalled both of
them and got the same results when I rebooted. The resources for DVD
problems didn't address my problem.. My cables are all correct and so are
my settings.. it just isn't recognizing the drives.
