My Documents Folder Does not Work

I am running Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2. Recently, when I am in windows
explorer and I click the My Documents shortcut under Other Places, I get sent
to a blank explorer page where the title bar still reads MY Computer. I can't
navigate back and when i try to close the window I get a message reading that
the program is not responding.
If I click on the My Documents shortcut from the statr menu everything works
fine.
