My Documents error

Hi, I have Windows xp with service pack 1. I recently tried to download
service pack 2 and my pc got messed up and had to restart it. When i set the
users all of my old files appeared in my documents. the problem is I can't
access any of the files in that folder including my pictures and my music.
All the files are there but when i try to access them I get a message that
access is denied, what should I do????

I have a similar problem; I have recently upgraded to Windows XP with SP2,
and am now unable to open my stored Wordpad documents. I get the message
"Unable to open Word for Wndows 6.0" Any suggestions would be welcome.
