nothing. has anyone had this problem before? please help

Was the laptop powered off when you left it this morning? Make sure the battery is charged, and that you have it plugged properly to electric power source.

Keep Cd out of the drive. When you power it on, do you hear a single beep? do you see anything onscreen?

If nothing works, restart your system again, and right away start tapping (tap & repeat tapping F8 function key).
You'll see a selective bootup menu. Select Safe mode. See if Windows will load properly.

If so, Right Click the My Computer icon on desktop. Select Properties.
Next, select Advanced. Look for a block that says Startup and recovery. Press the settings button.

In System failure section, turn off (un-check) Automatically restart.

Write an event to system log should be Checked (selected).
