My computer keeps freezing!

OK, we just moved back to the US from the UK, and our computer hasn't been
right since. I took it to a shop, to make sure nothing got giggled loose
inside the tower, and she found that the hard drive was on the fritz. So,
she installed a new one for me and slaved the old one to it. I reloaded
windows xp, and NOW, the computer freezes up to where I have to shut the
power cord off and restart it. It usually happens when we are on websites
with .gif's or videos...ie: MYSPACE. And sometimes does it when I am using
incredimail. When installing programs, or playing games on disk, it also
does it. I cannot have more than one thing running at a time, and I NEVER
HAD THIS PROBLEM with this computer!!! I cannot recall the computer locking
up/freezing up until we got it from the movers.

Is there anything I can do myself to fix it? Or is it something for a pro?

Thanks!

That's just it, it started happening when I installed WINDOWS! I have some
programs installed on here, but, it took me a few trys for some of them...as
sometimes it would lock up during installation.

I don't know. I had a error message that said that one or more of the
drivers may not have loaded correctly...and the way it told me to fix that
problem, I said, YEAH, RIGHT....it went right over my head!!! lol

there has to be someone who has had the same problem. It never did this
till we got the new hard drive and slaved the older one. Even when this
thing was giving me LOW MEMORY messages (with the old hard drive), it ran
better than it does now!!! I don't get it.

Thanks,
