My computer goes on Stanby when I open my profile ......

When I open my profile in Windows XP Home Edition my
computer seems to go on standby immediately, and I don't
know how to start it back up.

Instead of displaying the normal desktop, the moniter
sometimes shuts off, and the normal yellowish light turns
to the orange one. If I turn the moniter back on it turns
right back off.

I usually have to restart the computer a couple times
before my desktop actually shows up again.

I have Norton and checked for a virus but I found
nothing, what's happening??

When I put my computer on standby I dont know how to turn
it back on. I tryed clicking, pressing esc, bunch of
keys ... nothing works. What do I do? TY!
