Windows is not saving any of my settings.

Example:
I turn up the "Device Volume" in Sounds and Audio Devices Properties and
next time I start the computer it's back all the way down.

I put my computer on Standby (start>turn off computer>standby) and it won't
come out fo the Standby.
Even though it Power Options Properties I have Turn off monitor: Never, Turn
off hard disk: Never, System stanby: Never. Before I just hit the
powerbutton and there it was, a few seconds later, ready to go.

The only way to make it come back is to hard boot it by holding down the
power button for a few seconds.
IE is not remembering any settings at all it almost always defaults to its
default factory settings.
And the list goes on and on.

This all started happening after I downloaded NT Registry Analyzer.

Plus the computer is very slow after running this software.

Do you have any ideas how to fix this?
I should have never run this program.
My computer was not acting up before I did this. . . . if it ain't broke . .

Run the "registry bastardiser," or whatever it was called again, to see if
recorded all the damage it did, and look for an option to reverse all the
damaging changes it made !

....I suspect you will not get much sympathy in here, i.e. running one of
those things on a system that didn't have anything wrong with it, ...are you
mad ?

Registry cleaners are at their worst, best not touched with a barge-pole,
and at best, only used in a completely manual mode - inspecting every
proposed change.

The subject of registry cleaners comes up here several times each
week. The general consensus is that they are nothing but snake oil:
Useless in most cases, downright damaging in others. It appears
that your experience proves the point.

You could try rebooting the machine in Safe Mode (press F8
during the early boot phase), then run System Restore to put Windows
back to a point before you attempted to "fix" your registry. Click Start /
Help and look for help on "System Restore" if unsure how to do this.

Full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3)?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed? What
anti-spyware applications (other than Defender)? What third-party firewall
(if any)?

Think your Registry needs "cleaning" or "repairing"? Read

Just wanted to follow up with this issue.

I found this link: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm and let it
scan my computer and every problem I had was fixed.
