Does your system only freeze with the DVD connected or does it freeze at
other times too? If it freezes at other times then it may be a system or
hardware related problem. Try running spyware cleaning and antivirus
software. If the freezes are frequent you might need to check for hardware
problems and with very limited computer experience you may need to call in a
friend who has more advanced computer skills to help.

If the freezes are limited to when you have the DVD connected here are some
basic suggestions.

a) Does this happen only with the same discs? Maybe the discs are scratched
or damaged.

b) Does the DVD device seem to take a long time to read the disc? It might
be dirty. Try a drive cleaner or open the tray and blow some compressed air
into the drive to clean the drive lens .

c) When you burned the mp3's to DVD did you do it all at once or did you add
files later? DVD's are different than CD's. Multi session burns to DVD can
be problematic.

d) see if the problem occurs with the dvd drive connected to another
computer

e) try another usb cable

f) try connecting the usb cable to a different usb port on your computer

g) your drivers might need to be updated. You might need help with this as
it involves knowing the audio card or motherboard type then locating and
installing the latest drivers.

The above is not a comprehensive list.
