My Computer Explorer Window at Startup

S

Scott

Hi,

A friend's Dell computer has been working fine but recently something
strange happened. I'd like to know how to get rid of a window at startup.

The only thing she knows is different is that she said ok to installing
PSFREE.EXE, a popup blocker. I removed it.

When she starts the computer a Windows Explorer box pops up pointing at
c:\windows\system32. Of course it gives the disclaimer message about not to
change files in this directory or it could harm your computer. How do I
stop it from popping up? The window closes just fine by clicking on the
upper right-hand X. Rebooting doesn't cause the current state of the
desktop to be saved.

I've checked for viruses, trojans, and spyware.

Thank you.
