I just put XP into my computer..replacing Millenium. Now,
my CD burner does not work. I have Roxio CD creator 5.
Should I remove the program & re-install it? Or..Is
there an easier way to fix it?

Go to www.Roxio.com and find the version 5 update for your
(Basic or Platinum) software.

Easy CD Creator 5 requires a patch from Roxio to update it for XP,
www.roxio.com and since you likely did a full install of Easy CD Creator
when you installed it originally, you really need to remove it and start
over after you've downloaded the patch. When you reinstall, do a custom
install, do not install Take Two as that is not compatible with XP
regardless of the patch. Then continue with installation, ignore the
message about Direct CD, let it install that.

After the system reboots, you will receive a message that Direct CD was
shutdown because the version is incompatible with XP, install the patch.
NOTE: some users have better success installing the patch before the reboot.
I can't make a recommendation as it seems to work best for me when I allow
the system to reboot before applying the patch.

You would be much better off not using version 5.0 in XP as it is nothing
but problems even with the patches.
