Drag-to-Disc Question

Looks like Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 is included as part of WinXP, and used
for dragging files into the CD-ROM icon for burning. Well, when I did a
Windows 'repair' re-installation, this functionality was lost, and will not
re-install properly from the WinXP-Pro CD. Can I simply buy a copy of
Roxio's latest version of Easy Media Creator and install it from scratch to
regain the drag-to-disc function? I'm not sure how to uninstall what's left
of the old EMC7 program, cause it does not show up under Add/Remove Programs.

Hello Jim,

Roxio Easy Media creator is not a part of Windows XP. Your computer
manufacturer (e.g. Dell, HP etc) might have bundled this program when you
bought your machine from them. They might have included the install CD
alongwith your computer. However, you can also buy this program separately
and install it.

Jim - the win XP burner is a light version of Easy Creator (not much sense
since at XPs debut Roxio did not provide updated drivers for their retail
versions ). Anando is correct in that "Direct CD" the utility included with
retail versions of Roxio which allows drag and drop was not included with
XP.

No, it's not. If it came with your computer, it was because your vendor
bundled it with the computer he sold you.

That's because it's not on the Windws XP CD.

Certainly, but it may not be necessary. Check to see what other CDs came
your computer. You probably have it on another one. If not, contact your
computer manufactiurer to find out how to reinstall it.

I had a question about what the easiest way is to backup 2 networked
computers, one drive on each to be completely backed up, parts of each
to be backed up daily and the rest to be backed up weekly. Also, I
need/want to back these up to another internal drive, then mybeto
another internal drive, and lastly toan external drive. This is for a
home business and some personal. Is there an easy and automated way?
I've got PC Backup by stompsoft.

Thanks in advance.
