must one use XP with sp2 slipstream to install on core 2 duo PC

I tried installing XP pro with the original no Sp install disk and I get
windows exceptions for video on the Core2 duo PC with Intel PR31 mainboard

would an install disk with sp2 slipstreamed help?

I know the steps for integrating sp2 and extracting the boot image but I am
at loss as to how to use Nero express 6 to create the bootable CD. Nero only
give me a choice of built-in-boot or boot image from floppy and I don't have
the floppy drive

This is because it is running in Express mode. You need to switch to the
standard mode, if possible.

(Some OEM copies of Nero do not allow standard mode, only express)
