Musicmatch Jukebox and SP3

About 2 weeks ago I installed SP3 (I have Windows XP Home Edition).
Yesterday was the first time that I tried to use my Musicmatch Jukebox since
the SP3 install. The Musicmatch program wouldn't come up. However, the
mmjb.exe did load and it kept me from using some programs and the Internet.
I feel like the reason Musicmatch won't work is because of SP3, because it
worked prior to installing SP3. Anyone have any ideas about this problem and
what I can do to fix it?

Windows XP MCE 2005, with SP3. If you are referring to the last version of
Musicmatch Jukebox before Yahoo! bought it, I have version 10.00.4033 of
MMJB, and it is now playing a track from a series of drama CDs I ripped a
couple of years back. It is even displaying the track title in Japanese
characters!

Not sure what to suggest. Yahoo! bought Musicmatch Jukebox in 2004, and they
are now pushing people over to Rhapsody. The Jukebox is going to become
"abandonware". Pisses me off because I paid for lifetime upgrades.

I'd usually say, "Ask the makers of MusicMatch JukeBox."

However,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Musicmatch_Jukebox
, leads me to say that you may be out of luck. You might find a solution in
that wiki (by getting a version newer than yours, if it exists) - but
truthfully - it was last supported before the release of SP3 and may be
worthless to you now.

Would you recommend deleting the version that I have now and downloading a
newer version? I can download version 10.00.4040 at download.com.

Do you have IE7 installed? I had the same problem with Musicmatch ver 8.2
after I installed IE7. After going back to IE6 and reinstalling Musicmatch
7.1 updating to ver 7.5 and 8.2 they all worked fine .That was before SP3
came out. Since then I have updated to SP3 and Musicmatch still works.

I think the issue is with IE7, not SP3.
If you use Musicmatch 7.x there is a fix.

Go to
http://rapidshare.com/files/171585195/MusicMatch_7___Internet_Explorer_7_Fix.zip
and read the txt file enclosed. I upgraded to IE7 and lost MM but
using this fix, it now works again.

I have Musicmatch Jukebox 10.00.4033. I don't think there is a later version
available; Yahoo! bought MMJB a while back, and updated the files to create
a "Yahoo! Music Jukebox" (I have version 2.2.2.058); but I think that was
about two steps backward from MMJB 10. Also, Yahoo! has abandoned Jukebox
for Rhapsody.

OTOH, I have Windows XP MCE 2005; SP3, and MMJB 10 opens up just fine.

Did you upgrade to MSIE7 before installing SP3? As I recall, I uninsalled
MSIE7 first (which downgraded to MSIE6), then installed SP3, then reinsalled
MSIE7.
