speakers

windows xp
my speakers only work in one program (mUsicmatch jukebox) every other
program tells me either i have no sound card or their is no audio device
installed or the card is in use... this includes the internet , windows media
player, media center. and and other sounds. i tried access and defaults,
drivers everything i could think of- i know they work because jukebox sounds
perfect. please any ideas?

Control panel, system, hardware tab, device manager button--are there any
indications there about the sound card having a problem? Check from safe
mode since there can be duplicate entries that are at odds with one another
and they won't always show up in normal mode.
