No Sound from Media Player 11

Installed Media Player 11, uninstalled and reinstalled it, but never got
sound output when trying to play MP3 files. Get proper and excellent output
from MusicMatch Jukebox, MediaMonkey, MediaJukebox, RealPlayer, Quicktime and
Nero Showtime.

Output is USB Audio to a Xitel Pro HiFi-Link with a fiber connection to a
surround system.

I don't think it's a hardware problem. System is running XP Home SP2 with
current updates.

Had not used Media Player 10 when it was installed. I like the MP 11 look
and would like to use it.

Would appreciate any help.
