Hi,
For about 1 month now I have been trying to figure out how I'm going to fix
this. Basically when I boot it stalls straight after switching to the
windows 2000 white title screen. So I try to start it in Safe Mode With
Command Prompt and it stalls when loading the file 'Mup.sys'.
The problem is that I cannot even load the Windows Disk to get to the
recovery console. It loads the driver files then stalls at the point
'starting windows 2000'. I've also tried loading from boot disks, same
problem.
I checked google and tried the 'remove the USB devices' fix, it didn't work.
I've also run the Seagate disk diagnostics on the Windows Drive already, it
was clear of problems. The Windows Installation does boot on another
computer too, so it must be a hardware issue. I've also tried removing
memory, PCI cards and CD and floppy, still didn't work.
I can load my Linux installation so I do have some access to the Windows
File System.
I really need some advice on this it's a real bother?? What should I do
now?
cheers
Richard.
