Munged Address

I have posted in NGs using emailX.com as my munged address domain name and
it was pointed out that I was incorrectly using a valid domain name and that
posting through News.CIS.DFN.DE required me to use a "real" address - one
assigned to me, not necessarily the one from my ISP. I have come up with a
solution that works for me considering the following:

It is not acceptable to me to-
1) post to Usenet with any address in the headers/body that may result in
my receiving mail because of address bots or viruses.
2) use an address that will result in a bounced mail as that would be a
direct contribution by me to mails being received by the unfortunate person
the virus inserts in the "From" address.
3) not post through News.CIS.DFN.DE.

My solution is to use the services of
http://www.mailinator.com/mailinator/Welcome.do, apparently a free service
set up specifically for the purpose of a throw-a-way address - they want
spam sent to them as opposed to a Yahoo/Bigfoot whom may not. An added
bonus is that there's no sign-up, just start using "@mailinator.com" as your
domain. Any mail received here is deleted "after a few hours".
JSmithATemail.com and JSmithATmindspring.com can both be
(e-mail address removed) in the NGs, addressing how to contact them, if
applicable, through their signatures.

You could have saved yourself some headaches by reading their Frequently
asked Questions (FAQ) at http://www.individual.net/

I particular "5.3 May I mangle my "From:" header address so that I do
not get SPAM?" at http://www.individual.net/faq.html#5.3

Anyway it seems like Mailinator will do a good job for you.

As do www.spamgourmet.com - and which gives you a genuine address which
filters for you.

Cheers,

Thanks Roy,
I use http://www.spammotel.com/ for that purpose. I wanted something that
is a valid address (non-bouncing) but would not forward to me. That's why I
use mailinator as a Usenet domain.
