Multiple printer to a server

We have recently configured two Xerox DC 470 printers with
WIN 2000 server (SP 4). 5 other printers are also
configured with this server. Now the problem, one dc 470
is working fine, but when user submit the job to second
printer, printing/spoling time is very high. Both are same
printer, using same version PCL driver and connected to
same server. tried reloading the driver but the problem is
same. No problem with other printers. Any solution?

I'm assuming that "Printing/spoling time is very high" means that the print
spooler service is using excessive CPU time (e.g. as reported by Task
Manager or Performance Monitor).

Check the printer drivers on the client computers. You can have this
problem sometimes when the client computer has an "incompatible" printer
driver installed. If you can track down the client(s) that are triggering
the problem, delete the printer and the drivers on the clients, then re-add
the printer to those clients.

For Windows 2000 and XP clients you can delete the printer drivers using the
File, Server Properties dialog in the Printers or Printers and Faxes folder
on the client. See http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
for additional information.
