Perhaps you have some sort of Picture Manager/Viewer/Editor software that you recently downloaded or installed? Something from Kodak or Webshots or the like?

My Pictures is a short alias for your personal
C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\My Pictures

So you can see the files by either route; the same ones, not duplicates

Rob,

I've experienced the same problem on occasion. Sometimes when I use
the CTRL key and left-mouse button to select multiple files to
print/email/burn, Windows seems to interpret it as copy & paste--hence
the appearance of files named "Copy of ...". If I am careful to lift
my finger from the CTRL key between selecting multiple files it seems
to help.
