I want to share here something that I found very intriguing about how the iPhone 11 handles difficult lighting. Take a look at the two pictures below and see computational photography at play. Both these pictures were shot within seconds of each other and both of them unedited coming straight out of the box. It is amazing to see what the hardware and software combined in the iPhone 11 can achieve. The image basically is the culmination of multiple images that the software (computational photography) in conjunction with the hardware (neural engine) the phone processes to come up with this kind of final result.

Very impressive. :thumb:

Are you saying that you didn't have to do anything to get that improved image? That the second image was created automatically?

Yes, I did not do anything! Both images were shot in auto mode and there was no post-processing/editing done. It is SOOC!

Well, that is some technology.

Maybe we might see the end of photo editing.

I do not like editing my pictures, I am a photographer not an editor on the computer. As long as I get good results SOOC I accept that if not the image is always promptly deleted and I move on. That is just me!

But surely there was - it was done by the technology built into the camera, so a lazy photographer, like me, could simply take a rubbish picture and end up with an acceptable image and tell everyone that it was SOOC. :D
