Hi

I have two monitors at work, but only one at home - programs opened on
the 2nd one at work open in the 'ghost' space off screen at home and I
can't find a way to bring them back - I can't use
'right-click|move|arrow keys' as there is no 'move' option for the
programs in question - any ideas?

There may be an option in your display settings to 'stop windows opening off
screen' or similar
Or an option for individual display profiles, ie multi and single display

there may well be options as you describe (in fact I fully expect it)
but I have searched quite widely and haven't found them - I was hoping
that someone might actually be able to tell me how to do it.

What is the vid controller you are using for the multi display mode?
My experience extends only to Maxtor / Nvidea and not any default win multi
setup

Right click on the taskbar and select Cascade Windows: this has brought all
off-screen windows back for me.

You probably have the second display card turned on (this may be a dual
head), on this computer as well.... even though you dont have a second
monitor.

Windows has no way of knowing if you have a monitor connected or not. If you
have ONLY one display adaptor on then almost 99.9999% of all programs reset
the windows to show on one monitor...

so go to your display settings and disable the second one there....
