Removing multiple monitors

I moved a computer that had multiple monitors to a new location with only one
monitor. Programs continue to open on the non-existant monitor.

I have gone to display and disabled the extend to monitor
I have gone to devise manager and disabled the other monitor

What else can I do?

Remove the Software that redirects output between the monitors.
