Help with monitor going black after 2 minutes of inactivity

I have a new monitor that did not come with an installation CD and has
only very limited picture control non of which addresses the monitor
going black after about 2 minutes of inactivity in certain programs.
Once I move the mouse the display reappears.

Is there a way in XP to control or manage the screen display to
prevent this from happening or at least extend the time frame?

Control Panel
1. Power settings`
2. Display properties
screen saver tab

Mary,
1. Power settings`
2. Display properties

Alternate method: right-click anywhere on the desktop and chose "properties"

The value to change is ofcourse the up-down control marked "wait:"
