log out of xp after inactivity

is it possible to set windows xp to log out users after a certain amount of
inactivity.

example. user is logged on, but leaves the terminal. if there is no
activity for 30 minutes, the user gets logged out.

I thought about doing this on one LAN to counteract the problem of machines
being left on overnight, but the issue is that the negligent user will almost
always have left files open as well.

You then have the Hobson's choice of losing that data, or else forcibly
saving-over the original. Neither is terribly clever. The later could be a
big problem if the user has opened a standard document and heavily modified
it, intending to save under a new name.
