Multiple IExplorer.exe Open

Hi,

When I open one iexplorer browser window, my task managers shows 10-12
iexplorer.exe programs open under the processes tab.

I'm up to date on my service packs and my norton antivirus and spyware
software. Any hints?

Thanks!

Hi Sarah :)
Hi,

When I open one iexplorer browser window, my task managers shows 10-12
iexplorer.exe programs open under the processes tab.

Are you *sure* it's iexplorer.exe? iexplorer.exe is *not* Internet Explorer
(iexplore.exe...notice no r on the end of explore). It is malware. If you
are sure it says iexplorer.exe, then you have malware on your system causing
the problem and you need to do the following:

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.net/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post

Hi Sarah :)
Wow! You're right. It is iexplore.exe. I'll try those sites.

Ok.....if it *is* iexplore.exe as you now say, without the r on the end,
then it is the ok Internet Explorer exe. But, as you had first posted
iexplorer.exe (with an r on the end) which is malware, I wanted you to make
sure which one it really was. Now you will know the difference in the
future. :)
However, with that many windows opening, you likely have some form of
scumware on your system, so those sites will also serve you well in cleaning
them as well.

You're very welcome :)
