Multiple DUN windows pop-up when starting IE6

Hello,
I use Dial-up Networking 1.4 in Win98SE. Sometimes when I
open IE6, multiple Dial-Up Connection dialog boxes pop up
until another message comes up stating that IE has
experienced an error and needs to close.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix?

This only seems to have started after installing one of
the security patches that came out in the spring.
