Opening new IE6 window closes existing window

Anyone else experiencing this and anyone out there got a
fix?

When I open a new window in Internet Explorer 6 it closes
the existing window, which is a pain.

I am running Windows XP Home, IE6 and McAfee Internet
Security 6.0 - latter means I have to hold down Control
key to allow pop-ups and new IE6 windows, but have tried
disabling this McAfee function and the same IE6 closure
of old window problem occurs when I open a new IE6 window.

All help and comments appreciated.
