Multiple Drivemappings to the same folder

Using Win 2k SP 4 desktops and Win 2k server. SUS server hands out updates
to ALL computers. Drives are mapped manually with the "reconnect at logon"
enabled. One user's computer will, at times, map a drive to the same folder
under *every* unused letter. I have personally witnessed the user leaving
their computer for a meeting. The computer is left on, when they returned
*every* available unused letter had been connected to ONE folder. This
folder is set up for offline files.

We have 3 other users using the same type laptop, mapped to the same set of
drives, with the exact same folder set up for offline access. This doesn't
happen to them, just this one user and it is getting more frequent.

Any Ideas?

My work around is to drop the persistant and map the drive thru the
startup folder instead.
