I have a new Dell desktop XPS 410 with all updates with IE 6 that worked fine
but lately when I am on the internet and go several pages into a particular
site, I get a message that IE has encountered a problem and has to shut down.
If I go into the event manager I see the following message "Faulting
application iexplore.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting module msvcr71.dll,
version 7.10.3052.4, fault address 0x000017fb." next to the red X error.
After reading what I could (it seems there may be an issue after you install
security update 918899 when trying to open a pop up box) so I installed the
recommended hot fix 923996 but I still have the issue. Can anyone help?
First try to scan and clean your computer then see if the error for this
file will be logged in the Event viewer!.
