I've split this post from the thread you posted in, as it's important to create a new thread for each topic :)

Can you please provide some system details (like your operating system : Windows XP?) and what you mean by the "norton AV steps"?

ouch ...

I suspect you have a Worm (a very nastie Virus) I could be wrong, but Norton ain't gonna help here.

You can start by downloading, if this Worm will let you, the following ...

http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/tsc/sysclean.com

How to use & what to do ...
http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/tsc/readme.txt

and download ...
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HiJackThis.exe

You MUST disable system restore for your OS before proceeding ...
http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/secadvisories/default6.asp?VNAME=Disabling/Enabling+System+Restore

Also, try using this online scanner ...
http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/free_security_tools/housecall_free_scan.php

The best solution may be to wipe your HD & re-install the OS.

Welcome to the forums. ;)
