MSN Messenger Login Problems

I have been unable to log into my msn messenger service on all 3 of my user accounts. A message keeps coming up stating invalid name or password and as these were automatic logins nothing was changed to create this problem. Prior to this problem appearing I removed 3 files infected with downlowder trojan virus. The computer worked fine for about a day and a half then became real slow. I ran a Norton 2002 full system scan which came up negative and took almost 4 hrs to complete instead of the usual 40 mins. Since then the computer has worked normal except for being unable to log onto any MSN service and my McAfee antispam which is supplied by my ISP.
