Hi

I use a laptop at work and we need to access HTTPS sites regularly. We also
use MSN Messenger for intra-office communications. I have Win2000 Service
Pack 4. I have IE 6.0 SP1. I an up-to-date with critical updates and check
Windows Updates regularly.

The problem I have is when I take my laptop off the work LAN and connect
using any different ISP (even via dial-up), I am unable to visit HTTPS sites
(I get "Page Not Found" errors) and I am unable to log into MSN Messenger. I
obviously do not change any browser security settings when I switch out of
the work LAN.

Does anyone have any ideas about what might be causing this problem?

Thanks

how about some wild shots in the dark?

maybe check the connections tab of internet optoins.

compare 'settings' button of dialup to 'LAn settings' button of LAN?

proxy? port?
