I got this from an msn messenger newsgroup:
Just thought I'd let microsoft know.
I also know someone who said msn messenger 6.2 hangs for about 5 minutes
after she signs into it. It only started happening after she install Service
Pack 2
A few people have mentioned bandwidth reduction as a
possible cause of audio degradation when using MSN 6.2.
They noticed it after installing the SP2 upgrade to win xp.
I noticed the following new feature of SP2 modifying tcpip.sys :
"EventID 4226
TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent
TCP connect attempts"
This measure is taken to retard the spread of worms/trojans etc.
My question is could this negatively impact audio quality in Messenger
or maybe video-conferencing?
Just thought I'd let microsoft know.
