msgina.dll & winlogon.exe

After I uninstalled those search toolbar, my computer restarted. Since that,
I get prompted with a msgina.dll & winlogon.exe error. I don't even get to
the welcome screen to allow me to login. I tried starting up in safe mode,
but no helps. Same thing. Any suggestions would help. I don't want to do a
complete system restore with my restore CD if I don't absolutely have to.
This will be my last resort. Please help!

What search toolbars? Can you get into Safe Mode Command Prompt? If you
can, at the prompt type:

c:\Windows\System32\restore\rstrui.exe [enter]

This will start System Restore and you can restore to a date before you
installed whatever it was that you installed.

After you get back into the system, it would probably be a good idea to
scan for malware:

Firstly, kick your computer. You will feel a lot better. If your using a
laptop, then open up the closer window and yell "DAM YOU COMPUTER". You may
feel a little better. If you can get the window into safe made you may be
ok!

As i have metioned in other replies there is a great windows untility called
msconfig! This utility enables you to alter the way that windows starts up.
boot up in stafe mode
click on "start" then "run" when the run window opens type msconfig and
press enter. in here you will see many options. Nothing wrong with
playing!!! I would click on the last tab.... which is START! This
represents all programs and start-up commands that windows will perform.
Browse through and look for msgina.dll & winlogon.exe. if you cannot find
these then untick everything. aply the changes and restart. IF windows
boot's hurray..Run the msconfig util and start to re-click what you unclick.
I will do one one by one until you find the entry that cause the error. THIS
may sound strange, my explanations are not the best but when you run this
process you will hopefully understand.!!! if windows fails something eles to
try

hope this helps

If the OP can't get into Windows, she can't run the System Configuration
Utility (msconfig). We need to know 1) what search bars she installed;
and 2) if she can use Safe Mode Command Prompt as I asked her.
