I am trying to connect a DV camcorder via Windows 2000, to my pc.

The manufacturers say that the camcorder works of the default Microsoft
drivers.

Looking through the Microsoft info, the MSDV driver appears to be the one.
However, when ever I try to download it, It is not available.

I have used Windows Update with the camera connected and running, but the
update did not pick up any driver for the camcorder.
Am I doing something stupid in retrieving this driver or has the driver
changed and I am looking in the wrong place?

Did the camcorder come with any software?
If so have you tried installing it?
Have you installed as per manu instructions?
Does win find the new hardware (camera)?
What make/model cam?

No software with camcorder.
Win finds the camcorder when starting and goes through the installation
wizard, but does not find the driver.
The camera was made by Samsung , model VP-D10, it is about 3 yrs old and is
connected to the PC via a IEEE1394 bus.
