driver installation file is missing the necessary entry

I'm installing my Samsung Camcorder on my dell computer. Tried installing
software and drivers from both the cd and downloaded sw and drivers from the
website. Already contacted Dell in regards to this. I have already updated my
computer.

I am using Windows XP Home SP2 and I connect my camcorder via usb.

Camcorder is listed under USB controller as Samsung camcorder but has an
exclamation point. Tried everything. Even contacted Samsung tech support.
Tried installing again using the updated downloaded file through device
manager update driver wizard. after installation, it gave this error : "the
driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This
may be because the INF was written for Win 95 or later".

Please help. Thanks.

You would probably get better response posting this to a different
newgroup.
This is a .Net programming group.
