MSDOS installation

My computer's hard drive was corrupted by a virus and I
used the Microsoft Windows XP startup disks (downloaded
from site) to reformat my hard drive. Now, it wont read
my XP disk and run setup to install Windows XP Pro. It
loads the screen but says a fatal error occured because a
windows component was not installed. How do I reach a
DOS prompt to run the XP setup cd?

You need to install xp cd,boot to cd,recovery,if asked
for password press enter key,at the curser type:
FORMAT C:/FS:ntfs When its thru type:EXIT
XP should attempt to install auto,if not it'll reboot
then when asked to boot from cd do,instead of recovery
choose install xp.

The XP cd is bootable, change your BIOS to boot from the
cdrom first, setup will load and one of the blue screen
dos setup pages will give you the option to repair,
reinstall, or completely reformat your hdd..
