Recently my dsl has slowed to 3.4kbs download from 192kbs. Is there any
chance that something is loading in msconfig that might somehow be invisible?
If so, how can I find It? I have xp home with service pack 2. I have used
wintask pro, adaware, spybot and Norton AV, and SFC and have come up with
nothing. Can someone please help me out?

With SP2 have you opened the firewall, you'll need to add in exceptions
IE at least, probably others in add program. Also, find the internet adapter
mfg,go to thier web site for updates,if none exist,in device mgr, select
ununstall the hardware, then reinstall when back on desktop.

If you have not messed with your tcp/ip settings then the slow down may be
temporary with the cause being on the part of your provider, or you may have
a problems with your wiring, i.e. corrosion, moisture, etc. Also, unplug
your modem for awhile after shutting down, then plug everthing back in again
and restart your computer. Hope this helps, post back.
