msconfig - startup tab

OS is Ultimate. On the start up tab in msconfig are several programs I have
unchecked, so as not to run at startup. I would like to delete the entries,
I hate clutter. I have the script for XP from Kelly's XP site, but it
doesn't work on this version of Vista. I did use it with good results in
some of the Beta versions. I am not sure where to go, if at all, in regedit,
so thought I'd ask here before I did anything really stupid (again).

TIA

You can control startup programs through Windows Defender. Click Tools in
its command bar, click Software Explorer, then choose Startup Programs from
the Category drop-down list.

The entries don't appear there - ONLY on the startup tab when you run
msconfig.
(at least AFAIK)
I solved the issue - run the XP script form Kelly's site with the UAC OFF
That was why it work sometimes for me - I had the UAC off and on at various
times
over the last several months.
Thank you for the reply.
