I cannot get past my first scan. It keeps freezing at the
same file with an .iso extension. I am using build 615.
Is there something I can do to get past this? Thanks.

That maybe because .iso files are CD or DVD images, which
probably means that the file is huge. It maybe just
taking a long time to work its way through the file.

Hello Gina

1) Update both Microsoft Antispyware.

2)Have you tried Mcrosoft Antispyware, preferably while
running in safe mode?

Empty your IE cache and your other temporary file folders,
eg: c:\temp, c:\windows\temp or C:\Documents and
Settings\<name>\Local Settings\Temp (the path to your temp
folder will change depending on your name) - sometimes
programmes can be hidden in there - watch out for
mysterious *.exe files or *.dll files in those fºlders.

3) Do full deep scans with Microsoft Antispyware. Repeat
scanning until a complete scan comes through clean.

This isn't guaranteed, but it works for a great many items
that at first appear not to be cleaned in normal mºde.

I thought maybe it was because the file was large too but
it keeps doing it even after 10 minutes. I did a scan in
safe mode and it found 2 infections from TV Media Display
and removed them and now the popups are still happening.
My system is still infected with something. I've done
online virus scans at trendco and microsoft. On my system
I have scanned with Norton, spybot, bazooka, ad aware,
ewido and error nuker all with updated versions. I don't
know what to do now.

Get HijackThis from

http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe

and let it Scan your system and Save Log. (Save it where
you can find it again.) then send the log to:

Ron Kinner
(e-mail address removed)

He will tell you what to do next. Put Hijack in the
subject so he will know it's not spam.

Editors Note: Since HijackThis does not (yet) come with a
install routine, create a folder via Windows Explorer for
HijackThis, then move the file to this folder. This way
any backups created are saved in a legit folder. I've seen
too many instances where the user runs HijackThis from a
temp folder and any backups are lost if that temp folder
is cleaned out. You should also make sure you are using
the latest version each and every time you run HijackThis,
as there are new detections added all the time.

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change
into a "Save Log" button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log") HijackThis
