MSAS vs Spybot

When I first installed it over a month ago. I have had no
problem with installation or operation. However, after
running MSAS, I also periodically ran Spybot and found 5
to 15 problems.

The last 2 weeks after running MSAS, I ran Spybot and
found no problems. I also have been running Ad-aware, and
I still find 5 to 10 tracking cookies after running MSAS.

This beta 1 release of Microsoft AntiSpyware does not detect cookies/data
miners, will be resolved by beta 2.

Comparing SpyBot to MSAS now is like comparing apples to
oranges <grin>
Wait until the next Beta of MSAS and/or final, things will likely change.

I think you will also find that this works the other way
around as well.

I have a system with MAJOR spyware problems, and I was
going to just format it (it was really that bad) however
I thought I would run a few tests on it.

I can run MSAS and it will find some, then run Ad-Aware
and it will find some (as you wrote above) however I can
also do it the other way around. MSAS finds things Ad-
Aware Professional doesn't. !!!
