Is it luck

I installed MSAS on 2nd March. I also have Spybot S/D. I
had AdTools on Spybot for a long time that I could not
get rid of. After installing MSAS and running my first
scan, not only did it get rid of my AdTools but also
found and got rid of 18 other different spywares. The
next day I ran a scheduled scan and MSAS found and got
rid of another 9 spywares. Since then I have run MSAS and
Spybot every day and found nothing at all. Is MSAS really
that good or am I just lucky or am I missing something.
Any opinions welcome.

Your results are not uncommon and are what MS would love to hear from many
users. In my experience, I have been able to purposely infect some machines
and then completely clean them with just MSAS and a couple of manual
deletes. I have also had a user run across some particulary nasty trojans
that MSAS could not handle effectively. But neither could Adaware with the
VX2 plugin, Spybot S&D, SpywareBlaster, CWSShredder, and HijackThis.

Congrats on achieving a seemingly clean machine - it's always a pleasure to
not have to deal with a junked up computer.

No, its really that good, it has special built blocking techniques and
removal tools that greatly differentiate from other thirdparty antispyware
solutions. Make sure that Real Time protection is always on in the system
tray to protect from future intrusion.

Well, without fear of speaking too soon, I would
recommend MSAS to everyone. I can see by the newsgroup
that some people are having some problems, but so far it,
and everything about it, has worked very well for me. 10
out of 10 for MSAS.

By Real Time Protection, do you mean the orange bullseye,
which is the only icon I have in my system tray regarding
MSAS. If so, then yes, it is always active.

Hi

I think when you installed MSAS you also learned a lot
about dangers in the wild Internet.

To make your protection, privacy even better and get a
faster PC I also recommend
Lavasofts Adaware and CCleaner.

Hey Trish,
Great report! Thanks! When you consider newsgroup postings as a whole, and
not just for this product, it is normally those that are having some sort of
issue with a product. When one considers all those who aren't posting, I
think that weighs towards more satisfied users.
The last I heard was that there were over 7 million downloads of the product
in the first couple of months. A little math tells me that there's a good
size bundle of folks having a good experience.

No. Had none of them. Could be luck, could be wise
computing or it could be brilliant MSAS.
