MSAS App & Definitions Updates.

I have everything checked in "AutoUpdater" yet I don't
receive notifications that MSAS has a newer version - has
happened from .509 to .613 to .614

I'm also stuck in a 5729 to 5731 definition update
circle. I've downloaded/installed the suggested
newer .gcd files with no apparent change.

I have been testing MSAS since it became widely known and
never detected any spyware that I'm aware of. I know that
MSAS Beta1 isn't supposed to catch much adware, if any
yet, but it seems like my Ad Aware 1.06r1 and Spybot 1.4
always find a half-dozen after I've run MSAS first, and
CWShredder 2.15 found one thing once. Sigh!

I'm running all legal Win2K Pro w/all known updates
installed.

I don't know why you didn't get the notification, but here is link to the
614 download which is the latest:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A2-6A57-4C57-A8BD-DBF62EDA9671&displaylang=en

For the 5729 to 5731 issue:
"Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose shutdown.

Right click and "Save target as..."
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcDeterminationData.gcd
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditScanData.gcd
http://download.spynet.com/ASDefinitions/gcThreatAuditThreatData.gcd

Copy/paste these files to Program files/Microsoft Antispyware
Restart MSAS and "check for updates"
Done until MS realize that this is a bug.............."

As for MSAS not catching anything, its possibly Cookies/Dataminers its not
detecting, this feature is not supported in beta 1 release, hopefully in
beta 2, check the following link:

Hello Andre.

I need to manually update from def 5731 to def 5733:
can I use the same links you provided below?
If not, can you please give us the new ones?

Thanks,

Steff
