Is MSAS really working?

I installed MSAS in January and it is set to scan daily, which it does. But
since January it has only found 56 items to remove. I also use Ad-Aware which
today I run right after MSAS. MSAS which says is running normally, found
NOTHING. Ad-Aware found 24 items just today. What the deal?

MSAS beta does not scan for tracking cookies, Adaware does. Most likely that
is what Adaware is reporting.

If Adaware is reporting other types of threat not found by MSAS, this will
be because their databases differ. If so, I suggest that you send the details
to MS (tools, suspected spyware report)

Different apps, different vendors, different definitions of spyware. In
particular, Ad-aware defines certain sets of cookies as threats of various
kinds. Microsoft Antispyware does not define cookies as a threat that it
handles.
